It has been a full three weeks since President Muhammadu Buhari’s inauguration on Friday, May 29, 2015 who has been leading the country from the Defence House in Maitama, Abuja might be set to move into the Presidential Villa and finally “hit the ground running” by Monday, June 22, 2015.
A source at the Presidency disclosed that President Buhari was ready to move into the Presidential Villa before the week and might also name the first set of top government officials to commence the administration.
“It is true that the construction company has completed the President’s wing and he is set to move in any moment from now.
“As at today, it is only the Vice President’s residence that is yet to be fully completed.
“We expect that the two men will move into the villa by next week since the work in the Vice President’s apartment is not a serious one,” A reliable source from the Presidency said.
The source also revealed that President Buhari is set to start making key appointments in his administration as soon as he settles down in his new residence to prepare grounds for the take of serious work for Nigerians who have been seeking action from the new government.
President Buhari, also, has reportedly handed over the 800-page Transition Committee Report to a trusted team of associates, chaired by former Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State and also among the team is former Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State so as to make the document less voluminous.
it has been tipped that Babatunde Fashola being a former Lagos State Chief of Staff, a former governor and still a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, might to be appointed as President Buhari’s Chief of Staff.
“Hopefully, from next week, some appointments would be announced. Buhari is a fast reader and he will be able to take immediate actions based on the transition report,” the source stated.
