Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister of aviation has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of being behind the recent sack of Rex Tillerson, the United States Secretary of State.
President Donald Trump on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, sacked Rex Tillerson as the U.S. Secretary of State, replacing him with CIA Director Mike Pompeo.
Trump, who made the announcement on his twitter handle, thanked Tillerson for his service and encouraged Pompeo to do a wonderful job. Buhari on Monday met behind closed doors with the former U.S. Secretary of State at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Mike Pompeo, Director of the CIA, will become our new Secretary of State. He will do a fantastic job! Thank you to Rex Tillerson for his service! Gina Haspel will become the new Director of the CIA, and the first woman so chosen. Congratulations to all!
