President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, forwarded the report of the historic National Conference, aimed at finding solutions to Nigeria’s deep rooted problems, to the Senate for consideration and necessary legislative action.
The President, in the letter transmitting the report of the National Conference, reminded the Senate members that the terms of reference of the conference had been to discuss any issue about Nigeria with particular emphasis on finding lasting solution the unity of the country.
President Jonathan also added that the committee was barred from discussing any issue that would lead to the disintegration of the country, reports the Vanguard.
The committee was urged to recognise the need to move the country forward and also suggest the constitutional arrangement that would best suit Nigeria.
