Former chairman of the Economic and Financial crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, alongside former military administrator of Lagos and Borno, Buba narwa and well as former gubernatorial candidate on the platform of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), in the Adamawa governorship election of 2011, Marcus Gundiri have all been granted waivers to contest for the office of governor on the platform of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in the Adamawa by-election scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 11, 2014.
The spokesman of the PDP, Olisa Metuh disclosed this to journalists at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja on Friday, August 29, 2014.
The trio had earlier applied to get the waiver to the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) with the NWC sending their requests to a sub-committee under the leadership of the national organising secretary, Abubakar Mustapha.
The committee in turn submitted its report to the NWC on Friday, August 29, 2014 recommending that the waiver be granted. The three candidates proceed to contest against 8 other aspirants at a screening panel on Saturday, August 30, 2014.
