Oil marketers in the country have agreed to call of its nationwide strike over unpaid subsidy claims bothering on foreign exchange rates and begin lifting of petroleum products in the next 6 hours.
The oil marketers were said to have made the announcement on Monday, May 25, 2025 at a meeting with the chairman senate committee on petroleum resources, Magnus Abe.
A resolution was said to have been reached between the oil marketers, the finance minister Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, the Group Managing Director of the NNPC Joseph Dawha, and other stakeholders in the oil and gas sector.
In a related development, Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN) and Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) also addresses the press where it was stated that the industrial action has been suspended.
