An Appeal Court sitting in Abuja on Monday, September 21, 2015 stopped the proposed arrest of Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki by the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
The Chairman of the CCT, Danladi Umar had on Friday, September 18, 2015 ordered the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, to arrest of Saraki and produce him on Monday, September 21, 2015 for refusing to appear before the tribunal to defend charges of false declaration of asset levied against him by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
The police had announced that it was yet to receive official communication from Umar and the CCT.
