84 Senators Pass Vote Of Confidence On Saraki, Ekweremadu

Must read

Eighty-four of the one hundred and nine Senators in the upper chambers of the National Assembly on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 passed a vote of confidence on the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu.

This comes on the heels of calls from several quarters for Saraki to resign on moral grounds over his ongoing trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, where he is facing a 13-count charge of false declaration of assets.

According to Channels TV, the senate became rowdy after the vote of confidence was passed.

The Trent has obtained, exclusively, copies of the Senate resolution passed and the names of the 84 Senators who signed it.
