The Akwa Ibom State high court in Uyo has sentenced Uduak Frank Akpan, the first accused in the murder of Iniubong Umoren to die by hanging.

In the over two hours judgement by the presiding Judge, Bassey Nkanang, the convict was found guilty of rape and murder and sentenced to be hung on the neck till he dies.
Akpan lured a job-seeker, Iniubong Umoren from Twitter after she twisted for a chance at a job employment.
Akpan replied to her tweet inviting her for a phony job interview where he raped and killed her. He buried her in a shallow grave at the backyard of the building the crime was committed.
He was trailed through the reply he dropped on her tweet and traced to the address he committed the crime. The police arrested Akpan days after Umoren went missing following investigations from Twitter users.
