Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) who have laid a 5-hour siege at the Abuja home of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode have dispersed following the arrival of members of the press on the scene.
A eye-witness has confirmed this development to The Trent, saying that as journalists began to arrive the scene of the Asokoro home of the former spokesman for Goodluck Jonathan’s 2015 presidential campaign, the operatives of the EFCC who were sent on a mission to forcefully arrest Fani-Kayode became uneasy.
“They began to speak among themselves and suddenly, hurriedly, without any announcement or notice, dispersed in confusion,” the eye-witness, a journalist who didn’t wish to be named told The Trent.
Jude Ndukwe, a media aide to Fani-Kayode, who is a former aviation minister, confirmed this development to our reporter. It happened around 6pm on Friday, May 6, 2015 and Fani-Kayode has not been arrested.
