Heavy Gunfire As Boko Haram Moves To Storm Maiduguri

On Saturday evening the residents of Maiduguri, capital of Borno State were shaken by the sound of explosions and gunfire as Islamist terrorists, Boko Haram began a fierce battle to enter the city.

Two villages, Dailori and Walonri, on the outskirts of Maiduguri became frontline centre for a fierce battle between Nigerian troops and the terrorists beginning at about 7:30, a resident told our reporter.

According to reports, University of Maiduguri students residing at 202 Housing Estate are now from their accommodations in panic.

“We are crying in our hostel because the explosions are loud and everyone is panicking,” Hauwa Ba’na, a 300 level student revealed.
