No fewer than seven Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, were feared dead after suspected armed Fulani herdsmen attacked the Abagena IDPs camp located in the outskirts of Makurdi, the Benue state capital.
The Fulani herdsmen attacked at about 2am on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 leaving several of the traumatized IDPs with serious injuries.
Governor Samuel Ortom arrived the scene to assess the situation and could not hold back tears as he addressed angry Benue youths.
