The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar has picked Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as his running mate.
The former vice president made the choice on June 16 after the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party presented three shortlisted nominees to him.
The prospective candidates presented to Atiku were Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Ifeanyi Okowa, and Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom state.
After a critical consideration, the former vice president picked Okowa as his running mate for 2023.
Speaking at the unveiling, Atiku said one of the factors he considered was that his running mate must have ‘presidential qualities.’
