The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 granted bail to former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido.
Lamido and his two sons, Aminu and Mustapha
were on Thursday, July 9, 2015 remanded in prison custody by Justice Evelyn Anyadike of the Kano Division of the high court on a 28-count charge of corruption and money laundering to the tune of N1.35billion brought against them by the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The presiding judge, Justice Gabriel Kolawole ordered Lamido to surrender all his travel documents to the Deputy Chief Registrar of the court.
According to
Vanguard, Aminu, Mustapha, and their alleged accomplice, Wada Abubakar, were granted bail in the sum of N25million each with two sureties, one of who must be a civil servant not bellow grade level 16.
The ex-governor was also accused of siphoning some funds from contractors in the state which were paid into accounts managed by his sons.
