A 20-year-old man, Emeka Anumunu, who allegedly stole N6 million worth of customized car brain boxes, was on Friday, September 23, 2017 brought before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court.

The accused is being prosecuted for a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

Charged alongside Anumunu is Osita Eze who, is facing trial for receiving stolen items.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.

The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Chinalu Uwadione told the court that Anumunu committed the offences on September 6, 2017 at 10.00 a.m. at Iponri on Funsho Williams Avenue, Lagos.

He said the accused stole five customized car brain boxes valued at N6 million, property of Chisco Transport Company.

The offences contravened Sections 287, 328 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Oluyemisi Adelaja, admitted the accused  to a bail of N500, 000 each with two responsible sureties each in like sum.

She said the sureties must show proof of tax payment for the last three years.

Adelaja later adjourned the case to Oct 16. For hearing.

In another case, a notorious cultist and ex-convict, Ibrahim Oriyomi Balogun, alias Small Jaypron, was on Friday, September 22, 2017 re-arraigned in Lagos barely a year he was prosecuted for cult-related offences.

Balogun, 35, who was alleged to be terrorising Somolu area of  Lagos, is being prosecuted at an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court for belonging to a secret cult.

Balogun was arraigned sometime in 2016 for charges bordering on murder, possession of firearms and belonging to a cult.
