A 4-year-old boy had his breakfast interrupted by a pack of condoms in his bowl of crunchy cornflakes in North Devon, England.
We can only imagine the horror of the parents when their son poured his favourite breakfast cereal into a bowl and then started screaming.
The last thing they must have thought the boy found was a male contraceptive. But there it was.
According to North Devon Journal, the uncle’s fiancée witnessed the horrifying moment and calmed the 4-year-old down and encouraged him to settle down and eat. She spotted something silver in the bowl and pulled it out and it turned out to be an unpacked condom.
The most awkward part of the unusual find was having to explain to the boy what a condom was.
The supermarket that sold the cornflakes, Tesco, received a complaint and gave the family a letter and a £20 gift voucher as an apology.
But the boy’s aunt is not too pleased with Tesco. “They told me in Tesco this is the worst thing they had found,” she said as she insisted that the retail giant was not taking their complaint as seriously as she wished they would.
