The management of Bowen University on Thursday, March 20, 2014 closed the school indefinitely following a violent protest carried out by students on Wednesday night.
The students led a riot to protest plans to increase school fees, scarcity of electricity, water, and strict meal schedules.
Following the notice of closure of the university, all students have been advised to vacate the school premises.
Students who were detained after the riot are still in custody.
The students led a peaceful protest to the office of the Vice Chancellor after they were asked to leave the school.
