ABUJA, Nigeria – President-elect Bola Tinubu’s health has become a subject of growing concern as he returned to Nigeria on Monday, April 24, 2023 after weeks of medical treatment in France.
Upon his arrival, Tinubu was spotted with a thin tube on his right arm, suspected to be a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC line), typically used for administering medications and treatments directly to the large central veins near the heart.
Take a closer look at Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's arm, you'll see a PICC line there. This man is sick, he's supposed to be resting, and receiving treatments.

Tinubu’s health status has reportedly led him to restrict his aides’ phone usage out of fear of leaks concerning his worsening condition.
Sources close to the situation revealed that the severity of Tinubu’s condition necessitated intubation for five days, during which he could not speak, and his tongue was reportedly sticking out.
Intubation is a life-saving procedure used when a patient cannot breathe, which involves inserting a tube through the patient’s mouth or nose and down into the trachea to keep it open and facilitate the flow of air.

According to WebMD, a reputable online medical information platform, a PICC line is usually recommended when someone needs intravenous (IV) therapy for several weeks or more. This might include antibiotics, chemotherapy, hydration, or intravenous nutrition. A PICC line is also sometimes used when the veins in the arms are too small or fragile for an IV needle.
As Nigeria prepares for the inauguration of its new President on May 29th, the revelations about Tinubu’s health have sparked concerns about his ability to effectively tackle the nation’s significant economic and security challenges.
With rumours and concerns swirling around the president-elect’s health, Nigerians await the inauguration and the potential impact of Tinubu’s health on his administration and the country’s future.
Now that it's clear that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is on life support using PICC, it means if he's sworn in, he'll be a frequent medical tourist. Will he transmit power to Shettima when he goes on tour? If he tries to do like Buhari, I hope the Yoruba are ready for the fight.😂😂 pic.twitter.com/831XOqeGIx
