Assailants suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents have killed about 10 civilians after carrying out a raid in Bia Village in Northern Cameroun, AFP reports.
Confirming the attack, a source who spoke anonymously said: “Boko Haram attacked the village of Bia overnight, Thursday to Friday. The toll is 10 civilians killed and a large number of livestock stolen.”
The insurgents were also reported to have attacked a Cameroon Army position in Amchide, which lies on the border with Nigeria, although they were stopped in their tracks
Speaking on the attack, a Camerounian military source said: “They burned houses in Amchide, but without losses on our side. The attack was repulsed. We don’t know yet about casualties on the enemy side.”
