A hitherto unknown enclave used by Islamist sect, Boko Haram has been fingered in Adamawa State.
The cave, in a huge rock popularly known as “Bekin Dose” located between Michika and Madagali near Sambisa forest was revealed by Hannatu Zira, a woman abducted by the sect members from Grata village in Michika local government area.
She made the revelation on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in Yola the Adamawa State capital, where she is taking refuge with a relative after she escaped form the cave last week.
She said: “You need to be there to see how wicked these people are, they are inhumane and merciless when they want to commit any havoc on a person. If you don’t cooperate with them they will slaughter you straight away.”
Zira besought the military to extend their offensive against Boko Haram in Sambisa forest to the Bekin Dose Rock as she noticed that the insurgents sought refuge in the rock whenever they came under attack.
In her words: “It is a very big cave which can contain more than three thousand persons. What the insurgents do was to rush into the cave whenever there is any serious attack on them.
“If you are a stranger you will not know that there is a cave like that, unless the military bombard the rock completely or smoke them out of the cave for the sake of other women and children still in their custody.”
