Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno State, on Saturday, November 14, 2020, unveiled a 25-year strategic recovery plan from Boko Haram devastation.
Zulum decried that over the years, the sect has caused more than $6 billion worth of destruction.
The plan tagged ‘Our Borno, Our Success’, has immediate, medium, and long implementation phases.
It is anchored on Agriculture, Commerce, Environment, Healthcare, and Human Capital Development.
The governor said henceforth, all government activities will be executed in line with the development scheme.
Zulum directed his Adviser on Sustainable Development, Partnerships, and Humanitarian Responses, Mairo Mandara, to interact with stakeholders and collate their needs.
Mandara is expected to liaise with ministries, agencies, communities in all the 27 Local Government Areas, among others.
Zainab Ahmed, the minister of finance, budget, and national planning, did the formal launch of the programme.
Former Governors, Kashim Shettima and Ali Modu Sheriff; Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; NNPC GMD, Mele Kyari attended.
Others were state officials, serving/former federal and state legislators; traditional rulers led by the Shehu of Borno, and international community representatives.
