Islamist sect, Boko Haram on Sunday, February 8, 2015 launched attacks on Diffa, a village in southeastern border town in Niger Republic, with an explosion killing one person and leaving about ten others injured,
The attack took place around dawn and comes just two days after the group launched its first attack in Nigerien territory, a witness told AFP, although it could not be asserted if the explosion was a suicide bombing attack, a bomb or a mortar shell.
In a related development, Boko Haram terrorists on Sunday, February 8, 2015 reportedly attacks a military barrack in Gaida area of Yobe State.
Details of the attack are not tentative as residents revealed that heavy gunfire could be heard between the Nigerian army and the terrorists.
