Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, on Monday, June 15, 2015 dissolved all boards of government parastatals and agencies within the state.
Habib Aruna, the Chief Press Secretary of Lagos State had signed a statement to this effect.
The statement disclosed that the dissolution took an immediate effect, but however, revealed that the Civil Service Commission, Judicial Service Commission and the State Independent Electoral Commission were not part of the dissolution.
Governor Ambode appraised the contributions of the members of the dissolved boards, whishing them well in their future endeavours.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Abimbola Umar has been approved as the new Accountant-General of the state.
She also doubles as the Permanent Secretary (State Treasury Office).
Mrs. Umar was the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry prior to her new appointment.
She bags a Bachelor of Science in Economics (1983) from the University of Ibadan and a Masters of Science in Corporate Governance (2013) from Leeds Metrpolitan University, Leeds, United Kingdom.
According to the statement, her appointment takes an immediate effect.
