25-year old Nigerian athlete, Blessing Okagbare has claimed gold in the 100metres event of the on going Commonwealth games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Okagbare, who spotted a freshly dyed golden hair proved that her hair-do was done in anticipation of the actual gold medal she was to claim.
After finishing last in the 2012 London Olympics, she won the race in dominant fashion, setting a new games record of 10.85 seconds.
Okagbare who will also contest the 200m and long jump, stayed relaxed to power past experienced Jamaicans Veronica Campbell-Brown and Kerron Stewart, who finished second and third in 11.03secs and 11.07secs, in the last 50m.
