Mourning is a feeling of sadness or sorrow over death or the loss of something. In this life, there will be times of mourning; it will not always be fun and merriment; Ecclesiastes 3:4 says that there is a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
Everyone mourns; that is believers and unbelievers alike; the difference between us and the world is that we have a better understanding of life and life after death. Paul wrote in I Thessalonians 4:13, “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.” We do know that death is not the end of life; when our loved ones die in Christ, we know that we will see them again. Hallelujah!
God cares about those who mourn: and like a loving friend and relation He is always there to comfort all who mourn. Job 5:11 says that He sets on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety. In other words, He makes them happy! Are you mourning? God is right there with you. You are blessed. Receive the comfort of Christ in Jesus name. Amen.
