Ten different couples were joined as husband and wife according to Thai tradition inside a pink coffin at Wat Takien temple in Nonthaburi province, on the outskirts of Bangkok, Thailand.
Before the ceremony, the brides and grooms made offerings to the monks before taking their places side-by-side in the large pink coffin with floral bouquets held to their chests.
The monks then draped a large cloth across them which signifies their death followed by special incantations usually reserved for funerals while ending the prayers with blessings for a new life.
The temple had organized the event for the first time in 2014, when Valentine’s Day fell on the same day as their worship day known as Marka worsBucha.
