Cora Jakes, the eldest daughter of Bishop T.D. Jakes, requested prayers as she announced on Instagram that she and her husband, Richard Brandon Coleman, are splitting after ten years of marriage.

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce that my husband and I have decided to divorce,” said the 34-year-old Faithing It author who serves as Associate Pastor at Potter’s House of Dallas, her father’s ministry.
“This is a very private and personal matter, and I kindly ask for your prayers as I prioritize myself, and most importantly, my children’s well-being at this time.”

The couple got married in an intimate ceremony on June 4, 2011, where Bishop Jakes, who officiated the ceremony, walked his glowing daughter down the aisle. The couple share two adopted children, daughter Amauri and son Jason.

Just last year on Valentine’s Day during happier times, the popular minister, motivator, and prayer warrior shared a sweet tribute to her husband in a now-deleted Instagram post, saying, “I prayed for the peace of God to be wrapped up in my husband, and He gave me that and so much more.”
Now the associate pastor is praying for the peace of God to surround her family in the absence of her husband.
