French international and Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema has been arrested in relation to the Mathieu Valbuena sex tape blackmail allegations.
A group’s attempts to extort French international and Lyon midfielder, Mathieu Valbuena using a sex tape is being investigated.
French news agency, AFP reports that Benzema visited the premises of judicial police on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in relation to the case before being placed in custody.
L’Equipe claims investigators wish to ascertain if a conversation between Benzema and Valbuena during a French national team meeting at the beginning of October was just an advice or part of the plot.
Before now, former French international striker Djibril Cissé had been questioned in relation to the case but was later released.
27-year-old Benzema missed his club’s Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 as a result of an injury.
