MAKURDI, Nigeria – Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State announced that Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba/Tuface, has been appointed as his Special Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach.
The announcement came after a meeting with Tuface and his new wife, Natasha Osawaru, at the Government House in Makurdi on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
In his post on Facebook on Thursday, April 24, 2025, Governor Alia expressed his honor at receiving 2Baba, recognizing the immense contributions the musician has made to both the entertainment industry and Benue State.
Alia praised 2Baba’s national and international acclaim, stating that his music not only brings joy to people across Nigeria but also represents Benue in a positive light on the global stage.
“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Innocent Idibia as my Special Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach,” said Alia.
“Tuface’s extraordinary achievements in the entertainment world have earned him recognition worldwide. Whenever the name ‘Tuface’ is mentioned, it brings smiles, dancing, and the rhythm of life!”
During the visit, the Governor highlighted 2Baba’s commitment to supporting the administration and elevating Benue State through his work in the entertainment sector.
He emphasized that 2Baba’s influence in both the entertainment industry and local communities has made a lasting and positive impact.
In his new role, 2Baba will focus on a range of initiatives aimed at boosting the entertainment sector in Benue. These include:

Mentoring up-and-coming musical talents in the state.

Showcasing and celebrating Benue’s diverse musical cultures, from Etulo to Idoma, Igede, Tiv, and beyond, for local and international recognition.

Collaborating with talent managers to promote Benue’s brightest stars.

Organizing annual talent hunt events and competitions to promote unity, peace, and growth.

Securing funding from the government, NGOs, and corporate bodies to support entertainment initiatives and provide opportunities for youth.
Governor Alia expressed confidence that 2Baba’s experience and passion for the arts would bring lasting change to Benue, offering opportunities for growth, unity, and peace.
He further praised 2Baba’s ability to inspire hope and create opportunities for the state’s youth.
