ABUJA, Nigeria – The shocking case of Timileyin Ajayi, the self-proclaimed gospel singer and content creator who was caught with the severed head of his girlfriend, Salome Adaidu, in Orozo, Abuja, has gripped the nation.
What led this “church boy” to commit such a gruesome crime is a question haunting many who knew him.

A ‘Church Boy’ with a Dark Side
Ajayi, widely known as “Timi” among friends, began his public life as a devoted church member.
He was an active participant in religious circles, starting at Living Faith Bible Church before moving to Christ Embassy, where he gained recognition as a gospel singer and pastor.
But beneath the surface, a darker narrative was unfolding.
Friends have described Ajayi as a man living a double life: a church-going gospel artist by day and a local scammer, or “yahoo boy,” by night.
His content creation and pastoral work painted a veneer of morality, but those close to him suspect his ventures may have been a facade to mask criminal activities.
The Crime Unfolds
On the fateful day, neighbours noticed Ajayi acting erratically. Carrying a dripping poly bag with flies swarming around it, he walked disorganised through the community.
Concerned, some approached him, asking if everything was alright.
Ajayi managed to evade initial suspicion and continued on his way. However, two Hausa men noticed the blood dripping from the bag and decided to investigate.
Their horrifying discovery—a human head inside the bag—prompted them to raise an alarm.
Ajayi fled, but his escape attempt was short-lived. Passing by a church, he attracted the attention of church members, who joined the chase.
He was eventually apprehended by a growing crowd, and the police were called to the scene.

A Confession and a Gruesome Discovery
When questioned by authorities, Ajayi claimed that his girlfriend, Salome Adaidu, had come to visit him two days earlier.
He admitted that a heated argument led to a physical altercation, during which he allegedly killed her.
In his words, “She tried to hit me, and I retaliated. She died.”
Confused and panicking, Ajayi said he decided to dismember her body to dispose of it discreetly.
However, his attempt to conceal the crime was thwarted before he could carry out his plan fully.
Upon investigation, police found the rest of Salome’s dismembered body at Ajayi’s home.
The body parts were still fresh, indicating that he had begun the process of disposal shortly before being caught.

A Relationship Ends in Tragedy
Salome Adaidu, a vibrant young woman, was deeply in love with Ajayi, according to those who knew the couple.
Friends and acquaintances expressed disbelief, describing her as a kind-hearted individual who had been in a committed relationship with Ajayi for over a year.
“She loved him very much,” one friend said, struggling to comprehend how their relationship ended so violently.
Ritualist Allegations and Denials
Despite his confession, Ajayi denied being a ritualist, a claim many in the community find hard to believe.
His erratic behaviour, combined with the brutal nature of the crime, has fueled speculation that the act was part of a ritualistic practice.
A Nation Reacts
The case has sparked outrage and grief, with many calling for justice for Salome.
The police have confirmed Ajayi’s arrest and are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crime.
This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the hidden complexities in human relationships and the devastating consequences of unchecked violence.
As the investigation unfolds, Salome’s loved ones and a shocked community await justice for a life cut tragically short.
