The Bayelsa Development Forum (BDF) has begun making elaborate plans to host a rousing, heroic welcome for President Goodluck Jonathan, who prepares to return to Bayelsa State after accepting defeat at the presidential election of Saturday, March 28, 2015..
The BDF made this known via a statement issued on Saturday, April 4, 2015 by its Secretary-General, Ebimo Anderson, adding that is had already sent letter to the Bayelsa State Government, informing it of its plans and requesting permission to mobilize Bayelsa citizens to come out en-masse for the planned event.
The statement read in part: “As Ijaw people and proud Bayelsans, even though, we are deeply pained by the loss of our son at the polls, we are grateful to God and Nigerians for entrusting one of our own with the responsibility of leading this great nation at a time when it was thought impossible that a minority from the South-South will hold the highest office in the land.
“We are indeed glad that President Jonathan did not disappoint us as a nation by his sterling leadership and in the process making history.”
