General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Tunde Bakare has told Nigerians to be patient, as it is too early to judge the performance of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Pastor Tunde, while addressing State House correspondent after meeting with President Buhari behind closed doors in the President Villa in Abuja on Friday August 19, 2016, emphasized that there is no gain without pain.
Bakare, who was the president’s running mate during the 2011 presidential elections told reporters that he was pleased that President Buhari was in good health and that the president meant good for the nation.
“It is too early and too soon to begin to judge. If there is anything I know about Mr. President, it is that he has a good heart. He loves this country and he wants the country to run well. But it takes time. I know we are all impatient and in a hurry, but I trust we will come out of the woods,” he said.
When asked on the performance of the President Buhari-led administration, he said the present government was left with a lot of decay.
“Pain is part of gain. No pain, no gain. The years of wastage and all we’ve done wrong has finally caught up with us. All we’re praying for is wisdom for this government to do the right things so that gradually, we can begin to come out of the woods,” he said, appealing to Nigerians to be fore-bearing.
The speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, also visited the Presidential Villa to see the president on Friday.
