The traditional ruler of Lagos State, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, has threatened the Igbo people in the state against casting their votes for gubernatorial candidate, Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
In an audio file obtained on Monday, April 6, 2015 Oba Akiolu emphatically stated that anyone that votes against his chosen candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode of the All Progressive Party, APC will perish in the Lagoon within the space of seven days.
He also stated that Lagos State belongs to him.
He further revealed that Agbaje of the opposition party is his blood relation and that he warned him against contesting for the position of a governor in the state.
The Oba made the statement on Sunday, April 5, 2015 while addressing Igbo leaders although his aide issued a statement on Monday, April 6, 2015 explaining that the Oba did not directly say that death would befall those who fail to vote for Ambode.
