Arsenal youth team player and nephew to former Super Eagles midfield maestro Austin Okocha has been included in the Arsenal squad for the Barclays Asia Trophy in Singapore.
Alex Iwobi, 19, would travel with the Gunners on Thursday, July 8, 2015 in preparation to face Everton, Stoke City and a Singapore XI.
Also included in the 27-man list released by the club is another Nigerian, 19 year old Chuba Akpom.
Iwobi was born in Lagos but has played for England at youth level.
Iwobi is expected to switch allegiance to Nigeria soon. He was invited by the coach Samson Siasia to play for the U23 squad in Februray in preparation for the All African Games against Gabon in Libreville but he watched from the stands as they defeated Gabon 4-1.
Speaking to BBC Sports, Iwobi said: “The ambition is to break into the Arsenal first team plans and fulfil my ambition of playing at the top level on a regular basis.
“The main thing for me is to keep working hard as I still have a long way to get to the top.”
