Arsenal FC is undoubtedly a top contender for the 2015/2016 premier league title. They beat fellow contenders Manchester City 2-1 in what can be a defining moment of the season on Monday, December 21, 2016.
The Gunners first goal was a brilliant curling shot by Theo Walcott into the right corner of City’s net in the 33rd minute. Arsenal doubled their lead seconds before half time when Olivier Giroud finished brilliantly with his left foot from what appeared a difficult angle to score.
Late in the second half, City’s captain on the day, Yaya Toure scored a magnificent goal which he fired into the top left corner but that was not enough to rescue his team.
Leicester City will remain top of the premier league table at Christmas but Arsenal is definitely a serious contender for the title come May 2016.
