LAGOS, Nigeria – A Nigerian woman who uses the handle @ella_ada3 on Tiktok has gained attention for her passionate plea to free jailed relationship coach and social media influencer Blessing Okoro, also known as Blessing CEO.

Okoro was remanded in prison after being arraigned by the police on April 1, 2023, over alleged cyber-bullying of Folashade Samuels, the sister of the late Bimbo Ogbonna, the wife of auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, also known as IVD.

In a video which went viral on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, the unidentified protester demanded Blessing CEO’s release, calling on the Nigerian Police to arrest and detain her in place of the socialite.

The woman, bearing a placard reading “Free Blessing CEO,” stated, “I call upon you, Nigerian Police, free Blessing CEO. She did not commit any crime. She needs to go to the hospital. She needs to go for a check-up. She needs to treat her ass. Free Blessing CEO. You can come and arrest me and free Blessing CEO.”

The lone protester argued that Blessing CEO’s detention was unjust, emphasising the importance of freedom of speech in Nigeria.

Blessing Okoro, a controversial relationship therapist and Instagram influencer, has been granted bail by the court to the tune of N10 million with two sureties in like sum. Two weeks later, she is still in custody, raising concerns that she might not have the means to bail herself out.

Before her arrest, Blessing CEO had undergone a cosmetic surgery called a Brazillian butt lift (BBL) to enhance her backside.
