LONDON, UK – The Royal African Society has appointed Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard, founder and chairman of APO Group, as Strategic Advisor to Chief Executive Officer Janet Rogan.
Founded in 1901 and governed by a Royal Charter, the Royal African Society is the United Kingdom’s longest-standing institution dedicated to promoting Africa’s influence and fostering equitable relations between Africa and the wider world.
His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, serves as the Society’s Royal Patron, continuing a legacy of royal support previously championed by Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who held the role for 64 years.
The Society’s diverse membership body includes influential individuals, organisations, and companies with a vested interest in Africa. It holds a prestigious position in advancing understanding and engagement between Africa and the global community.
Through networking events and strategic partnerships, it serves as a catalyst for positive change and stronger cultural and professional ties.
Franco-Gabonese entrepreneur Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard, named one of the 100 Most Influential Africans of 2023, brings a wealth of experience and a vast global network to the role.
His advisory contributions span multiple sectors, including business, media, sports, and cultural development, with affiliations on boards such as the African Energy Chamber, the FIFA – CAF Infrastructure Development Project, and the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
He also serves as Special Advisor to Rugby Africa’s president and holds roles with international organisations such as the Canada-Africa Chamber of Business and Bloomberg New Economy Gateway Africa.
Nicolas’ company, APO Group, is a leading pan-African communications consultancy and press release distribution service, working with global brands such as Microsoft, Coca-Cola, and the African Development Bank.
Janet Rogan, CEO of the Royal African Society, praised the appointment, saying, “I’m thrilled to welcome Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard as Strategic Advisor.
