The inauguration of the 8th Katsina State House of Assembly was on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 disrupted by thugs and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who stormed the Assembly complex.
Punch gathered that their actions was not unconnected with the in-house fighting over who would be the next Speaker of the Assembly, leading to the postponement of plenary till 4pm in the evening.
The incident was said to have resulted from the decision of the state government and the APC leadership to pitch their tent against different candidates.
