Must read

ABUJA, Nigeria – Supporters of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are excitedly awaiting the return of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who is set to return to the country today from his vacation in France.

Tinubu had travelled to France on March 21, following his victory in the presidential election, to take a break and plan his transition program after an exhausting campaign season.

The APC campaign council had explained that the trip was also part of Tinubu’s preparation for the Umrah and Ramadan fasting in Saudi Arabia.

According to Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s director of media and publicity, the president-elect is returning to Nigeria on Monday, April 24, 2023, ahead of his inauguration on May 29. Onanuga confirmed the news via Twitter, and the APC supporters eagerly anticipate Tinubu’s return.

Ayo Oyalowo, a former member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and a Development Economist, speaking on Arise TV, stated that all top-ranking leaders of the party were aware of Tinubu’s return and were making preparations to meet him. Oyalowo added that Tinubu’s wife, Remi, would also be accompanying him back to Nigeria.

Tinubu is expected to arrive at the presidential wing of the Abuja Airport and will be escorted from the airport by a carnival-like motorcade to the Defense House.

In the meantime, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dissolved its presidential campaign council as the party looks forward to Tinubu’s inauguration as the next president of Nigeria.
