The All Progressives Congress, APC, has made a whooping ₦258.27 million from nomination form purchases from aspiring governorship candidates in Ondo state.
Twelve aspirants purchased forms for the most coveted office in the seat ahead of the party’s primaries scheduled for July 20, 2020.
Among the twelve aspirants is the incumbent governor of the state, Rotimi Akeredolu and the only female aspirant, Olajumoke Olubusola Anifowoshe.
The cost of the nomination forms is N22.5 million for male candidates and N11.25 million for the female candidate.
Part of the APC’s guidelines is to slash the cost by 50 percent for women and people living with disabilities.
The other APC aspirants are the founding state chairman of the party, Chief Isaacs Duerimini Kekemeke, former deputy clerk of the National Assembly, Chief Olayide Adelami, Amb. Olusola Iji, Odimayo Okunjimla, Ifeoluwa Olusola Oyedele, Awodeyi Akinsehinwa Akinola, and Dr. Nathaniel Olumuyiwa Adojutelegan. The only female aspirant in the pack, Mrs Olajumoke Olubusola Anifowoshe is the daughter of the first executive governor of the old Ondo State, Chief Adekunle Ajasin.
