Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will on Thursday, July 2, 2015 hold an emergency meeting aimed at resolving the crisis that has engulfed party as a result of the National Assembly elections which saw Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara emerge as Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives against the wishes of the party.
According to The Cable, Chairman of the APC Governors Forum and Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, who sent the invite for the meeting said the meeting will be held at the Imo Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja and is to begin at 8 pm.
The governors, according to findings, plan to find a common ground on the issue ahead of the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting which is scheduled to take place on Friday, July 3, 2015.President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to meet both Saraki and Dogara for the “first time” at the NEC meeting, as all three men are members based on their positions.
