Security operatives have arrested one Iyabo Adesina, a suspected vote-buyer in Osun State on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
The suspect, an agent of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was caught with a bag of cash as she was “inducing voters”, shortly after the governorship election came underway.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had warned of strict enforcement of rules against cash inducement of voters while unveiling its partnership with anti-graft agencies, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICP, on Friday.
