Less than a week after the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State was bombed, another secretariat of the party, this time in Andoni Local Government Area was attacked with explosives in the early hours of Friday, January 16, 2015.
The explosion which according to Punch occurred around 3 am, destroyed the secretariat building.
The Ward 1 Chairman of APC in the area, Mr. Amos Gogo Amos, said: “We are calling on the government to come to our aid as we are no longer safe in the community. Anything can happen in the night. The building was badly damaged.”
The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Mohammed confirmed the incident, although details were not readily available.
