A dog shelter worker has been arrested for allegedly having sex with the animals he kept.
Jonathan Ford, 32, was arrested on suspicion of bestiality by the Pope County Sheriff’s Department earlier this week.
Ford ran the ‘I Love Lucy Pet Rescue’ shelter in Hattieville, Arkansas, which claims on their website to find stray dogs and give them a home.
The investigation into Ford’s conduct is ongoing, however the animals that he was allegedly intimate with have been placed in a different dog shelter.
Annette Williams, a worker at a shop near I Love Lucy Pet Rescue said she was particularly saddened by the alleged crime as the local area has a high number of stray dogs.

‘They have issues to begin with and to think that someone would show them kindness for a little bit and mistreat them again, that’s more than I can think of,’ she said.
The sheriff’s department say more charges may be brought against Ford as their investigation continues.
