Angry Mob Set Suspected Thief Ablaze In Delta

Angry mob on Saturday, August 14, 2021, set a suspected thief ablaze in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The incident occurred at the Cinema Site along Okumagba Avenue in Warri.

The deceased suspect was alleged to have burgled into the shops of traders when he was caught, beaten to stupor, and set ablaze.

At the time of filing this report, the remains of the deceased thief are still lying fallow along the road.

A resident of the area who pleaded anonymity, said the deceased suspected thief and other members of his criminal gang have been terrorizing the area after he packed out from the layout.

According to the resident, “The thief has been worrying the area for long. He packed and was operating from outside with his gang. If you on your generator down, by 10pm in the night, they will just come and move it. You will not see your generator again. They break into peoples houses and rob them.”

Bright Edafe, the Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, in a telephone chat with Daily Post confirmed the report.
