A group of angry mob had on Friday, January 16, 2015 beaten a young man suspected to be an NYSC Member to death at the Kano Central Mosque.
The mob made up of youths claimed to be watching over the mosque every Friday since the attack on November 28, 2014 which killed several persons, Daily Times report.
According to sources who claimed to have witnessed the incident, the suspected corps member who was dressed in suit had stopped by the roadside to buy bread from a seller locally referred to as ‘Mai Shayi’ when suddenly he raised an alarm that the young man had guns and bombs in his possession.
He was immediately rounded by men of the Mobile Police who were subsequently overpowered by the angry youths who eventually beat the young man to pulp using cutlasses, axes, sticks and stones.
The deceased was rushed to Murtallah Muhammad Specialist Hospital nearby where he was confirmed dead.
Furthermore, when his bag was searched an NYSC white T shirt believed to be his was found as well as some books.
The police spokesperson of Kano state, ASP Musa Magaji Majiya who confirmed the incident warned the the general public to avoid jungle justice adding that the police could not find anything incriminating on the deceased young man.
