A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. James Anelu stunned his parishioners when he prohibited Igbo songs from being sung in the parish.
Rev. Fr. Anelu is the parish priest of Holy Trinity Catholic Church Ewu-Owa Gberigbe in Ikorodu, Lagos state. During Sunday service, he banned Igbo songs in the parish.
Despite uproar from parishioners, Fr. Anelu stood his ground saying “be making noise if you are greater than God.”
“Be making noise, the noise that will follow your life you will see,” he added.
He said he was against “domination and oppression” from the Igbo tribe.
