IBADAN, Nigeria – In a twist of matrimonial woes, a divorce-seeking man, Oyeyinka Adegoke, begged for intervention at a Mapo Grade A Customary Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Friday, May 12, 2023, alleging his wife’s diabolical influences have resulted in his spiraling misfortunes.
The plea, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, revealed a peculiar scenario where the husband accused his wife, Wuraola, of not just being stubborn and disobedient but also of possessing diabolical abilities that have led to his financial downfall.
“My fortune has taken a severe downturn since the day we exchanged marital vows,” Adegoke painfully admitted in his testimony.
“My wife, Wuraola, is not just stubborn and disobedient, she’s diabolic.”
Adegoke went on to detail a series of unfortunate incidents involving his properties, which he strongly linked to his wife’s supposed diabolic influence.
“My lord, Wuraola recently destroyed two of my vehicles and a motorcycle which I use for business,” Adegoke testified.
He further explained that he had provided a car for his wife’s transportation, but she allegedly caused an accident that rendered the vehicle unusable.
The allegations did not end there. In a shocking revelation, Adegoke accused his wife of aborting pregnancies conceived within their marriage.
“As if these were not enough, Wuraola has been aborting the pregnancies she had for me,” he added.
The unique case has drawn attention from all corners of Ibadan, with residents eagerly awaiting the court’s decision.
As the session ended, the court’s President, Mrs. S.M. Akintayo, adjourned the suit until June 29, stating that the respondent, Wuraola, will have the opportunity to present her side of the story.
