American Rapper Young Scooter Dies on 39th Birthday

ATLANTA, USA — US rapper Young Scooter died on his 39th birthday after sustaining fatal injuries while attempting to flee from police, according to official reports released this week.

Authorities confirmed that the rapper, whose real name was Kenneth Edward Bailey, died following an accident during a police pursuit in Atlanta on March 28, 2025.

Bailey suffered critical injuries while trying to evade officers and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office listed the cause of death as blunt force trauma resulting from the incident.

Young Scooter rose to prominence in the early 2010s with a string of mixtapes and collaborations alongside fellow Atlanta artists such as Future and Gucci Mane.

Known for his gritty lyrics and authentic portrayal of life in Atlanta’s streets, Scooter built a loyal fan base and became a fixture of the city’s vibrant hip-hop scene.

News of his death prompted an outpouring of tributes from fans and artists across the music industry.

Future, a longtime friend and collaborator, wrote in an Instagram post, “Rest in peace, Scooter. You were one of a kind — always real, always solid.”

Bailey is survived by his children and extended family.

Police have said the circumstances surrounding the police encounter remain under review. An internal investigation is ongoing.

The rapper’s sudden passing adds to a growing list of losses in the Atlanta hip-hop community in recent years. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
