The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje has downplayed the touted experience of his All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, Akinwunmi Ambode.
Agbaje made the affirmation via a statement on Friday, February 6, 2015, Agbaje said Ambode lacks the necessary experience in governance as his 27-years in public service was a mockery of government.
Agbaje said: “For about two decades out of his 27 years experience in government, the APC candidate could be said to have experience deficit.”
Speaking in Ajegunle and Makoko areas of the state, Agbaje accused successive APC-led governments of being responsible for the deplorable state of local governments throughout the state as the party, in his books, had turned the institution into a machinery for advancing its goals and not for improving living standards.
He further berated the Lagos State government for obtaining a $10 billion (N1.9 trillion) loan for slum development without any actual development being carried out, promising to right the wrong if elected as Governor.
He said: “Let me also charge those of you that have not collected your PVCs to do so at your registration centres. Also ensure that you wait behind so that your votes are not manipulated. If you do this, victory is assured.”
