Ebola scaremongers have said that Akon performed in a bubble during a concert in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to prevent contracting the deadly Ebola Virus
“Akon Performed In A Bubble In Africa To Avoid Contracting Ebola”, The Source headline says on Thursday, October 4, 2014, a strange conclusion that Twitter saw and ran with causing the news to spread like wildfire.
Oh well, Akon was just having fun and it had nothing to do with Ebola. Or maybe it did, but now we’ll never know.
The concert in question took place on September 21, 2014 and was part of International Peace Day celebrations in Goma in the east of DRC, so it would have been pretty galling if Akon had honoured the occasion and its message of unity by sealing himself off from the crowd.
It is true that isolation is the rule of the game as regards Ebola, but in this case the Senegalese singer wasn’t worried about contracting it at the event, he was merely gleefully bouncing around on the crowd in the giant ball for the hedonistic thrill of it, the Independent reports.
By the way, this is not the first time that Akon is having fun in a bubble. The YouTube videos below will prove it.
Flamingo Lips seems to particularly like this stage prop.
